Tac-41 V.R.A.G. spring guide

My new Tac-41 spring guide is about to be released soon. Until enjoy this quick sneak peek and explanation of what is does exactly.

As it’s name suggest it is a VIBRATION REDUCING ADJUSTABLE GUIDE.

Regarding guides it’s difficult to do anything progressive, but there is one thing that can be improved a lot, and that is noise output. The three main noises a spring sniper can produce with their solutions are:

-muzzle pop –> a good suppressor, any Silverback DTSS or carbon will do the job.

-piston impact –> a well working airbrake, like the Mousefart 2.0

-spring “twang” —> Adjustable thickness spring guide.

So the big piece of the rifle noise output is the spring after impact, vibrating on the guide and in the piston. The reason for this is, the springs are not as precisely manufactured than the rest of the parts. A 9x13mm APS2 type spring can be easy 9.5×12.7mm, that let’s room for the spring to vibrate.

The solution is to increase the thickness of the spring guide, exactly to the level when it can move without additional friction, but no room left to vibrate upon impact. You can do this by tightening the nut on the end of the guide, so the hard rubber tube thickens into the spring.

The process is similar to the SRS version:

Generally speaking adjust it until the spring won’t fell off, but you can reamove by hand without much resistance.

The bearing remains captive, just like on the non sport series of Tac-41. Other changes than that is a POM plastic sleve on the core of the guide, and an O-ring embedded into the base plate, that meant to further reduce any vibration transfered from the cylinder to the spring guide stopper.

The rounded shape of the baseplate helps smoother assembly with stronger springs too.

Summing it up, this was the last step to make the Tac-41 series potencially as silent as the SRS are.

The release is soon scheduled! Keep an eye on the post about it.

Stay tuned!
