Paint with trash

It was about time to give a new paintjob to my main SRS, added new parts and the old paint worn off mostly…

Here I will show you some techniques I use most of the time on my rifles and gear.

The paints I used were Belton Molotow.

The colors are the following:

-Camouflage /ranger green/

-Pear /light green/

-Milkchaffe /tan/

-a shade of dark grey without any name marked on the can

I used pieces of trash to mask and apply the paint.

First layer is used ripped pieces of paper to mask random edges of shades.

This result in a pattern with deep contrast, a bit looks like M90 camouflage here.

You can even stop at this step if your only concern is long distance blending.

The next layer is applied with an old piece of sponge, simply spray the paint on a plastic tray, tap the sponge in and than tap on the rifle.

Apply the light shade on dark spots, and dark shades on light parts. The goal of this is make the lines and blends of shades more abstract.

For the final layer you will need a wrinkled bag, can be paper, nylon, dosn’t really matter.

Aplication is similar to the sponge method.

The goal of this is apply a micro patten to the larger macro base.

You can choose one technique, or use all, combine them as you like and as your environment requires. Don’t forget you need good quality paints with proper shades and reflecion.

Have fun!
