If you built and SRS before you will be familiar with most of the parts and upgrades here, but if you are new to Silverback snipers, here is the way to upgrade the VKS and some small tips to improve the assembly process.
I will include the link to the parts I used below the pictures so you don’t have to look them up individually.
As usual take apart, clean the parts you don’t plan to replace, in my case the only part left to upgrade is the inner barrel, since at the moment of posting I am waiting for the shipment of my barrels like everyone else pre-ordered them. Once that arrive I will assemble a conclusive post about the final perfoamce of the VKS once maxed out. (it will probably not surprise anyone)

The cylinder area accepts the same parts as the SRS platform, in this case I deceided I won’t have a full VMP piston, instead I took a steel VMP body and used a leftover alu weight from my VMP kit, the total weight of the piston now is 90gr.
On the piston I installed the original sear end of the stock VKS piston, a Mousefart 2.0 piston head with spacer and a rear piston spacer. If you want to go the easy way, you can just pop on the CUP version of the Mousefart, it goes straight on the stock piston.
The spring guide is the V.R.A.G. adjustable spring guide, same as the SRS has, with 7 preload washers this this setup has 3.3J on .48 with Silverback 120N, once my barrel installed I will just remove some washers to keep the J at 3.3.

In case of the VKS a plate keeps the spring guide in place instead of the stock plate. If you have stronger spring it might be difficult to install easy. With the V.R.A.G. spring guide you can use any M5 screw, thread in the back of the guide and use as a tool to press it in, and just slide the plate in place. Easy.
The hopup are is similar to the SRS chamber, while it is TDC, remains compatible with the stock chamber upgrades.
For the J and weather I use the 85° R-hop, with 101% seal rubber, later the year when temperature drops lower I will swap to 70° as usual. The chamber also acepts the Barrel Saver Spacer, while it does not improve perfomance at all, it is enough to only ONCE tighten the chamber screws assymetric, and the external barrel will force them right in the inner barrel, leaving it permanently damaged. If you install just one part in the VKS, this should be it.

In the case of VKS, you can check if you installed the inner barrel correctly, before full assembly. Simply put the nub in and press in slightly while looking through the chamber. It will clearly show if your barrel is in right angle or not.
The external barrel have two screws holding the chamber, one flat, one pointy.
The pointy goes to the TOP and the flat to the BOTTOM. Mixmatch them and you can easy damage the chamber, getting it stuck in the external barrel.
This mostly concludes the upgades on the VKS to /almost/ fully max it out, while I’m waiting for the inner barrels to arrive and finish is fully I will keep collecting ideas and tricks to this platform to elevate it on SRS levels.
